Haymaker & Sally Premiere Photos
October 19th, 2007 by Damon
Below you will find photos from both the New York and Seattle premieres of Haymaker & Sally.
New York, October 6th

Audience members congregate in eager anticipation for the New York premiere.

Lillian Walker-Shelton (Minnie, in one of my mom’s (and many others’) favorite performances) offers a smile and a message for her fans.

Nirav Shah (who gave a charismatic performance as The Shah of Southtown) poses for his fans. To his right, half-pictured, is Phil Sternhell, a former personal assistant to P-Diddy (seriously).

Katie Hurley (the reporter) poses with Sarah Mann and Susan Cohen, who spent all day waiting outside the theater to make sure they’d be able to get in.

Hurley manages to get herself in another picture, this time with Shiri Bilik. Note Lillian Walker-Shelton addressing her fans and signing autographs in the background.

Haymaker & Sally fans begin to fill the theater. The air crackles with anticipation and buddy cop intensity!

I address the audience.

Jason “Reidster” Reid addresses the audience.

Joy is written on the audience’s faces as they exit the theater.

More joy: note my brother, Dean, looking handsome in the foreground. In the black shirt in the background is scene-stealer supreme Sujan Trivedi (Hasan).

More joy!

Feeling pumped after the screening, Steve Ankrom strikes a pose on the streets of the East Village.
Seattle, October 13th

Fans line up for the Seattle premiere. High demand leads to a ticket-scalping market.

Jim “Mad Man” Mentzos (Officer Duncan) and my mom pose beneath the marquee. Note the stylish Haymaker & Sally t-shirt. There are still some available! (More details coming soon.)

Mentzos poses with Jane Awesome (the angry mother) on the red carpet. Jane’s husband “Beaster” looks on.

Jane Awesome with Andrew Miller (Mantis Beard).

Nobody loves the spotlight more than Jane Awesome. Here she poses with Katie Hurley (the reporter).

Me, H&S supporter Mary Strazer, and her husband, Anthony Draye, who served on set as the head dog trainer.

Clifford Haywood (Clifton Haymaker) and Kevin Slattery (Carol Sally) show the kids how it’s done.

The stars flaunt the good looks that make them stars.

Action scene stars Elizabeth Lopez and Nikolas Pharris-Clurej share a moment before the screening. Ms. Lopez and Mr. Pharris-Clurej were recently engaged. Congratulations!

A full house. Bearded, in the foreground, is Sean O. (Seamus Beard); one row behind him, and to his right, in the black shirt, sits Joshua Baber, creator of perhaps the best opening title sequence ever; behind Baber, in the brown shirt, may be Ian Connors, cinematographer extraordinaire. Ian was a combat cameraman in Bosnia, among other places, and was still rattled by the harrowing realism of the Haymaker & Sally action scenes.

The fans offer their approval through a standing ovation.

Chip Baker (Lincoln Playa) closes the night with a celebratory dance beneath the marquee.
Many thanks to all who attended, and to Peter Agnos, Dean Agnos, Mike Oliver (who did all the cool close-up shots in NYC), and Katie Hurley for the above photographs. If you have any you’d like to add, just send them to haymakerandsally [at] gmail.

Hahahaha–yeah, I guess I’ve got the hat, but I still need about fifty pounds and the ability to grow a beard. That and widespread critical and/or commercial success. I’d settle for just the ability to grow a beard.

Congratulations Damon, all of us here in Chicago can’t wait to see your movie. Some of the relatives are already looking for the proper attire needed to attend such an event.
